Our professional fees are as follows:
Initial Rider Evaluation and Application Fee: $55
Lesson Activity: $45 per session
Trail Riding Activity: $45 per session (Trail Rides in South Woods)
For any given session, up to three trained Volunteers, one certified NARHA Instructor, and one carefully and purposely selected horse is required. Volunteers arrive 20-40 minutes prior to an appointment time to groom the horse and prepare for the lesson. Instructors spend at least 45 minutes prior to and after a lesson preparing lesson plans, recording notes about the lesson conducted, and preparing the next lesson plan. A file is kept on each rider’s progress and is available for review by parents/guardians, and can also be submitted to your school system for IEP’s (Individual Educational Plans). We are held accountable to HIPPA regulations just as a physician’s office or a hospital. Consequently, it is important that we manage and respect everyone’s time.
Please plan on your rider being at the barn for one hour. Their activities begin when they place their riding helmet on their heads and conclude when they remove them. Provided your rider is physically able, “Activities” include grooming, tacking, riding, removing tack and grooming the horse. Your rider may or may not be able--emotionally or physically—to participate for the entire time, but we do schedule an hour per client. This allows for time to discuss progress or current issues with the family.
It is difficult to schedule horse time and volunteers on short notice. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of lesson. Credits are not given for classes cancelled by the rider. Three “no-shows” or late cancellations in a session will disqualify the student from the remainder of the session and the rider will be placed on a waiting list for the next available session. Please do not assume that classes will be canceled due to bad weather. We often provide stable management and horse care classes in place of riding. Remember, this is Tennessee; it may be raining where you are, but clear at Seven Gables Therapeutic Riding Stable. Please, call the office (615-218-4100) to confirm a class if you are unsure of the weather conditions or our scheduling.
